I still can’t understand why one team would castaway their coach or assistant coach and other teams end up competing for their services. Especially for the exact same job they apparently failed at. But the question is really: Did the person fail or did the organization fail? It would be interesting to see a study to see how many coaches were fired from one job but had great success doing the same job elsewhere. And it would be interesting to see the reverse: How successful was the organization after they cast someone away? This doesn’t have limitations within sports along. Every organization could benefit from such studies.
